Pigeon Phil

I was born Phillip Thomas Sims in Sydney, Australia. I am the middle child of 10 children. I attended Boy's Town boarding school. While there I did photography; and was made State Junior Band Champion for playing the Trombone, Baritone, and the Cornet.

I have lived in Sydney all of my life -- only venturing out to South Australia for a short spell when I was old enough to leave home. After leaving Boy's Town School, I set out to work on the Carnivals.

I first met my wife, Marion (Maz_40_1) when she moved into the apartment across from my sister. I never took the initiative to talk with her until she asked me if I'd like to go roller skating with her and a few friends from work. From then on it was usually Marion who asked me out, although I did summon the courage once or twice. It took me 3 years to get to know Marion before I asked her to marry me; but since then I have lost all of my shyness. Now it is Marion who is the shy one.

Marion and I have been married for 21 yers and have 3 children and 1 grandchild. We have had a lot of children in our lives besides our own children, as Marion can't say no to any child that comes and asks if she would have a spare bed and food until they can get on their feet; so, with all the children that we have raised for a time, we also have grandchildren from them.

We have lived in our current abode in Campbelltown, Sydney, now for the last 15 years.

My hobbies include racing my pigeons, listening to music on the old gramophone when I get the opportunity, and mechanics.

I work for a company called Pilkington Aust., which manufactures glass. I have worked there for most of my married life, and often ride my pushbike to and from work, which is about 15km each way.

Marion and all my friends at work tell me all the time that I am an accident waiting to happen, as I have had so many of them and had to go on compo. I must stress though, that none of these accidents have happened through any fault of my own. -- LOL.

I was born Marion Jenny Neiman in Guildford, New South Wales on October 7, 1962. I was the 3rd born to my parents. Before me was my elder sister Judith and elder brother Mark, who passed away at the tender age of 3 months on September 20, 1961. My younger siblings are Amanda and Christopher.

I have lived most of my life in Sydney, Australia, although I have also lived in Victoria, The Snowy Mountains and Brisbane.

My parents separated when I was only 13 years old and I lived with my mother and step-father; although my father was always living close by me until he passed away in 1989.

I met my husband Phillip in 1977 when my mother, step-father, baby brother and I moved into an apartment across the hall from his sister. Phillip was a very shy boy back then and I had to ask him out as I felt he spent too much time on his own. It then took him 3 years to ask me to marry him. Phillip and I have been married for 21 years now and have 3 beautiful children -- Jennifer Dawn, age 21; Adrian Harold, age 18; and Bernadette Ann, age 17. We have a beautiful 23-month-old granddaughter named Kayla-Anne. We are very proud of her.

Phillip and I are currently living in Ambarvale, Campbelltown, which is a suburb of Sydney, with our son Adrian , and our menagerie of pets, which include Phillip's racing pigeons, B and my Galah,Quarian and Chihuahua, Narla.

My hobbies are listening to music and doing crafts; and I often volunteer my time across at the neighborhood center to teach the young children cooking and cleaning skills. I am also a keen collector of porcelain dolls, collector spoons and anything on American indians.
